Jamie Lorton

Mechanical Engineer

James is an experienced Energy Professional and Peak APM Founder who is known for a combination of focused analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and interpersonal strengths.

He brings highly developed technical competencies in mechanical and project engineering, which complement demonstrated proficiency in asset and maintenance management. He has proven capability to quickly build trust and credibility whilst managing positive working relationships in new environments.

He has extensive experience with development, construction, start-up, commissioning and operational experience covering 15years in energy and manufacturing industry settings across Australia and New Zealand.

Data-driven decision making: Peak APM specialises in leveraging data from various sources, such as technicians, operators, maintenance records (CMMS), and operational data, to gain insights into the health and performance of assets. A company’s metrics (KPI’s) may cover some of these already. This data is then analysed to identify improvements and used make changes either strategically or tactically to generate more desired outcomes. Technology can help us gather and analyse the data, but it’s not necessary to get started to sustain peak performance.

Duncan Gan

Senior Data Analytics Engineer

Development services specializing in Data Analytics, Systems Integration, and Digital Solutions for the industry delivering big picture thinking with the technical capability to execute. Duncan brings a multidisciplinary mindset and adaptable approach that helps organisations enhance operational efficiency and reliability through forward-thinking, data-driven strategies.

Duncan has over 12 years of diverse experience across multiple technical roles within the Oil & Gas sector, notably at Shell/QGC. His expertise spans Production Engineering, Process Analytics, and Digital Transformation with a proven track record of deploying data solutions that deliver high impact results.

One of Duncan’s standout contributions was the development of a Well Event Log a platform that consolidated and contextualized data from multiple systems to provide a unified timeline of operational events across ~3000 wells. This solution directly enabled improved operational oversight and contributed to an estimated $100M/year reduction in production deferment.

In another leading project, Duncan tackled recurring downtime challenges with Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs). By combining real-time data analysis with engineering fundamentals, he created a predictive model that identified end-of-life risk in critical rotating equipment. The result: average site downtime was slashed from 65 days to under 10 days, delivering a ~28PJ reduction in deferment over two years.

These projects showcase Duncan’s ability to merge big picture systems thinking with advanced analytics and hands-on engineering to unlock sustained business value.

Duncan has joined Energy Technical Services and is currently leading projects that propel clients forward through data-driven maintenance optimization, leveraging advanced algorithms to achieve significant operational improvements and efficiencies.
